Are there any requirements to becoming a US citizen?

So you want to naturalize and become a U.S. Citizen – that's great!  In a nutshell, you can become a citizenship by birth, if your parents naturalize when you're a child, or through naturalization as an adult.  If you want to apply for citizenship, you must satisfy residency requirements, have good moral character, understand English, have a basic knowledge of U.S. history and government, and swear allegiance to the U.S., and take the oath of citizenship.

If you have any questions about these requirements and applying for citizenship, you should talk with a lawyer first, since applying for citizenship might not be as straight forward as you think.
